German pianist and composer Julia Kadel began to play the piano at the age of seven and discovered her passion for jazz music after years of classical training. As she devoted herself fully to the music, she finally studied jazz piano at University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden in 2009. Before signing with MPS, she had already released two albums at Blue Note / Universal Germany: "Im Vertrauen" (2014) and "Uber und Unter" (2016). In September 2019 Julia and her trio released her MPS debut "Kaskaden", which was recorded on analogue tape in the legendary MPS studio. This made the trio the frst MPS act after 35 years recording again in the historic studios, even the notorious German magazine Der Spiegel reported about it. Julia Kadel has received several awards and grants during her career and played international festivals and concerts in countries such as Norway, England, France, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Russia, Lithuania and Turkey. Her 2023 album is, "Powerful Vulnerability".
