They describe themselves as Industrial Jungle Pussy Punk, although they later disowned the term. Their name is derived from a solo album Jimmy worked on in the mid-1990s. The band consists of Jimmy Urine on vocals and programming, Steve Righ? on guitar, Kitty on drums, and Lyn-Z on bass guitar.

Since their formation, Mindless Self Indulgence has been pushing boundaries with their unique blend of electronic and punk music.
