Ocean Colour Scene is a Birmingham, UK-based band that was founded in 1990. The band is made up of former members of The Boys, Echo Base, and The Fanatics. Paul Weller's regular guitarist since the early 90s has been a part of Ocean Colour Scene. They have had various collaborations with other artists like Steve and Paul Weller. Their recording studio "Moseley Shoals" in Moseley, Birmingham pays homage to the famous Muscle Shoals studio in America.

Despite some changes in the lineup over the years, Dan Sealey and Andy Bennett have been permanent fixtures since replacing Damon Minchella in 2003. They even played on the "Moseley Shoals 15th Anniversary Tour", which they didn't originally record on.

Ocean Colour Scene has had an impressive musical journey with connections to renowned musicians like Paul Weller and The Who. With their unique sound and dedication to their craft, they continue to captivate audiences worldwide.

Moseley’ takes its name from an area in Birmingham, Moseley Shoals is a tribute to Muscle Shoals, the legendary soul recording studios in Alabama. A low-key start to their career was boosted by two things – the endorsement of two of Britain’s biggest pop stars – Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher, and the exposure given to the first single, "The Riverboat Song", by Chris Evans on his hit TV show TFI Friday.

The album was produced by Weller’s producer at the time – Brendan Lynch, giving it a strong, organic R&amp;B feel (influenced by the Small Faces and Weller’s solo recordings) with a pronounced 60s flourish, mixing in traces of Beatles and Stones, as well as elements of prog-rock and psychedelia, adding an even more eclectic flavour to their sound.
