Island Songs is the innovative brainchild of Bafta award winning composer Olafur Arnalds, alongside acclaimed film director Baldvin Z (BBC's Trapped, Life in a Fish Bowl).

Seven songs created in seven weeks on a travelling tour around Iceland in partnership with local musicians, most notably including Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir who is the singer in Of Monsters And Men. Her track is the most conventional "song", with most of the other tracks having a beautiful sparseness about them that reflects the country from which they are born.

The essence of the country is distilled into music, carefully picked over for it’s golden nuggets and lovingly sampled to make a tapestry of Icelandic mood and sound. Atmospheric to the nth degree and a glorious mix of sound, vision and emotion.
