The 4-piece string band from Regina Saskatchewan recorded the new album in Muscle Shoals, Ala., and it was produced by Grammy winner Jimmy Nutt, best known for his work with the Steeldrivers. On Sugar and Joy, The Dead South continue to push the boundaries of the genre with an intoxicating mix of traditional pedigree and irreverant stomp. And according to Nutt, it is a team effort.
