The Prodigy is a British electronic group founded in 1990. They made their debut with the release of "What Evil Lurks" EP in 1991. Initially known for their rave/breakbeat sound, they later incorporated rock guitars into their music, resulting in a more mainstream sound with the album "The Fat Of The Land" (1997).

The band is led by Liam Howlett, who handles keyboards, synthesizers, programming, and various other instruments since its inception. Maxim joined as an MC and vocalist shortly after their formation in 1991.

Former members include Keith Flint, who was both a dancer and lead vocalist from 1995 until his tragic death by suicide in 2019. Leeroy Thornhill contributed as a dancer and occasionally played live keyboards from 1990 to 2000. Sharky was one of the original dancers but left before the band signed their record deal.

Junkie XL is a Dutch artist who started as a live-act in 1995 and released their debut album "Saturday Teenage Kick" in 1997. Although technically a group, all tracks were created and produced by Tom Holkenborg. After the album "Big Sounds Of The Drags," Junkie XL became a solo project when Rudeboy left.
In 2003, Tom Holkenborg moved from Amsterdam to focus on writing and composing music for video games and films. He frequently collaborates with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer for new movie scores but also works independently on new material.

Thursday 30 June - marks 25 years since the release of The Prodigy’s The Fat of the Land; an album so iconic it turned the sound of underground rave music into a global force; capturing the world's attention and dominating the charts. In celebration XL Recordings announces two-anniversary releases including a limited edition 2LP silver 12” vinyl package of the original album with a reimagined version of Alex Jenkin’s artwork, and a brand-new remix of “Firestarter” by drum and bass pioneer Andy C.

The Prodigy's third studio album The Fat of the Land became a global phenomenon, debuting at number one on album charts around the world it has gone on to sell over 10 million copies. The album's journey started with the single “Firestarter”, which was released alongside a bold video that was shot in London’s abandoned Aldwych Tube station directed by Walter Stern.
