The roots of Chrysalis stretch back to a tiny flat in West London in 1967, when former university social secretaries, Chris Wright and Terry Ellis, linked their flair for managing and booking bands to form the Ellis Wright Agency. After trying to release their bands' records via other companies, they decided to start their own label.

In 1968, they signed a licensing deal with Island Records with the proviso that if their acts achieved an agreed number of hits, they would be awarded a label of their own. Within a year, this tally was reached and Chrysalis Records was born.

Over the years, Chrysalis went through various ownership changes. In 1985, Chris Wright bought out Terry Ellis and later sold the label to EMI in 1991. EMI was then acquired by Universal Music Group in 2012 before selling the Parlophone Label Group (including Chrysalis) to Warner Music Group in 2013.

Ultravox were a British new wave band formed in London in 1973. They achieved great success between 1980-86, with seven Top Ten albums and seventeen Top 40 singles in the UK. Their most popular hit was "Vienna" in 1981.

The original line-up featured John Foxx on vocals, Billy Currie on keyboards, Warren Cann on drums, Chris Cross on bass, and Stevie Shears on guitar for the first two albums. Robin Simon replaced Shears for their third album. In 1979, Foxx left to pursue solo projects and was replaced by Midge Ure.

This 'classic' 80s line-up recorded numerous hits including "Vienna," "Hymn," and "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes." However, prior to recording their ill-received U-Vox album in May 1986, Cann was asked to leave due to irreconcilable differences with the rest of the band.

Quartet was Ultravox’s third album with Midge Ure on vocals, which followed two hugely successful albums, Vienna and Rage In Eden. The previous albums were produced by German producer, Conny Plank, for this they look at George Martin to take the helm. Featuring four UK Top 40 singles, Reap The Wild Wind, We Came To Dance, Visions Inn Blue and the silver awarded Hymn.

This new 4 LP Clear Vinyl box set contains 36 tracks in total, with a 17 previously unreleased recordings. LP’s 1+2 the original 1982 album production master, A-sides, B-sides and live tracks, along with a previously unreleased newly mixed concert recorded at Hammersmith Odeon in December 1982. The set is packaged in a Rigid Slipcase, 2x Wide Spine Sleeves and 4x Heavyweight Clear Vinyl

CDs 1-6 contain the original 1982 album production master, a new stereo mixes by Steven Wilson, A-sides, B-sides &amp; live tracks, previously unreleased Cassette Rehearsals and Monitor Mixes along with a newly mixed concert recorded at Hammersmith Odeon in December 1982. The DVD [Audio Only] contains a new 5.1 Surround Sound Mix of the Album/B-sides by Steven Wilson along with 24/96 Hi-Res audio of the new mixes and the original 1982 Master/B-sides. The set is packaged in a 12”x12” Rigid Slipcase and contains a 20 page 12” square booklet featuring contributions from the band, unseen photos from Midge Ure’s and Chris Cross’ personal collection, reproduction of the Quartet tour programme, 7 discs in card wallets housed in two 12” gatefold album sleeves
