Siouxsie and the Banshees were a U.K. band formed in 1976, fronted by Siouxsie Sioux on vocals, with Steven Severin playing bass. Budgie on drums joined them in 1980. The band had various guitarists including Marco Pirroni, John McKay, John McGeoch, and Robert Smith of The Cure. Martin McCarrick was their full-time keyboard player from 1987 onwards. They disbanded in April 1996 but reunited for 'The Seven Year Itch' Tour in 2003.Siouxsie Sioux (Susan Janet Ballion) is known for her distinctive vocal style and powerful stage presence. She has been an influential figure in the punk and post-punk movements.Their music blends elements of punk rock, new wave, gothic rock, and alternative rock to create a unique sound that has inspired countless artists across genres.

Prolific and always evolving, never wanting to be left standing still Siouxsie and The Banshees’ Tinderbox is the seventh studio album in no more than eight years almost ten years since they took to the stage at the 100 club for 20 minutes of improvised chaos. The single Cities In Dust widely regarded as one of Sioux’s greatest vocal performances and quickly followed by Cannons the albums finest track chimes perfectly with the times as the 80s started to spiral out of control.

LP - Remastered from the original ¼” tapes and cut at half speed at Abbey Road studios, London. Both artwork and audio have personally been overseen and orchestrated by Siouxsie Sioux and Steven Severin.

CD - Digitally remastered and now boasts 4 bonus tracks including the extended version of Cities in Dust and 3 previously unreleased tracks, The Chris Kimsey version of Sweetest Chill and the JVC versions of Starcrossed Lovers and Song from the Edge of the World. This cd re-issue is housed in a digi-pak with sleeve notes by Paul Morley.
