BMG Rights Management, formerly known as Bertelsmann Music Group, is a global music conglomerate with a rich history in the industry. Originally formed in 1985 as a joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and RCA, BMG has since evolved into a powerhouse of music production and distribution.

In 1986, Bertelsmann acquired full ownership of RCA and Arista Records through the purchase of their joint venture's stock from General Electric. The following year, these labels were merged under the umbrella of Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), solidifying its position as a major player in the music world.

In 2004, BMG joined forces with Sony Music to create Sony BMG Music Entertainment. However, in 2008, Bertelsmann sold its stake in the company, leading to the formation of BMG Rights Management. Today, BMG continues to thrive as a leading record label and distributor worldwide.

Slade is an English rock band that rose to prominence during the glam rock era of the early 1970s. With seventeen consecutive Top 20 hits and six number ones, they are considered the most successful British group of the 1970s. Led by Noddy Holder's powerful vocals and Dave Hill's distinctive dress sense, Slade became known for their deliberate misspelling of song titles. Their best-selling single, "Merry Xmas Everybody," has sold over one million copies.

Originally named Ambrose Slade, the band reluctantly changed their name to satisfy a record deal with Fontana Records. Under new management, they shortened their name to Slade and released a commercially unsuccessful LP before achieving success in the UK charts. While they struggled to break into the US market, Slade influenced several American bands such as Kiss and Cheap Trick.

After some lineup changes over the years, including periods performing as Slade II, the band continued under different versions until finally settling on their current lineup in 2020. Known for their energetic performances and anthemic songwriting style, Slade remains an iconic figure in British rock music.

Slade are without doubt one of the most exciting bands to come out of Great Britain. With their unique blend of perfect pop-rock'n'roll, outrageous flamboyance and pure fun, Slade have become a firm favourite in the hearts of pop fans all over the world for nearly fifty years. 

Slade achieved their first chart hit in May 1971 with the Bobby Marchan song Get Down And Get With It then, released in October of the same year Coz I Luv You was the band’s first of 6 UK #1s. They racked-up an impressive 16 UK Top 10 Hits and became a mainstay of music television of the area with their defining performances on the likes of Top Of The Pops setting the fashion trends of the time.

Throughout the seventies, Slade became one of the UKs biggest bands, touring and recording continually. Slade's catalogue of hits are synonymous with the era:- Take Me Bak 'Ome, Mama We'er All Crazee Now, Cum On Feel The Noize, Gudbuy T' Jane, along with the many others provided a soundtrack to the Glam Generation and are still today, heavily influential to their peers and the generation of musicians they spawned. To quote Noel Gallagher: “No Slade = No Oasis. It’s as devastating and as simple as that”. Bands as diverse as Nirvana, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, Def Leppard, The Ramones, Kiss and many more have sited Slade as influential.
