Steppenwolf

Steppenwolf was a highly-influential American hard rock band based in Los Angeles, CA from 1968-1976. With over 25 million record sales worldwide, they achieved great success, releasing eight gold albums and twelve Billboard Hot 100 singles, including six Top 40 hits and three Top 10 hits.

The original line-up of Steppenwolf consisted of *Jerry Edmonton* on drums, *John Kay* on lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and harmonica, *Goldy McJohn* on keyboards and organ, *Michael Monarch* on guitar, and *Rushton Moreve* on bass. Their current line-up includes drummer Steve Riley, lead guitarist Danny Johnson, John Kay as the frontman once again handling lead vocals along with rhythm guitar and harmonica duties. The band is completed by bassist Gary Link and keyboardist Michael Wilk.

Steppenwolf's music is often compared to other legendary bands such as Iron Butterfly, Grand Funk Railroad, James Gang, Humble Pie among others. Known for their energetic performances and powerful soundscapes that captivated audiences worldwide during their prime years in the late '60s and early '70s. Steppenwolf remains an iconic name in the history of rock music.
