Sven Libaek

Sven Libaek is a Norwegian-born artist with an impressive range of talents. He is a composer, conductor, arranger, record producer, pianist/keyboardist, guitarist, actor, music teacher and TV host. Born on September 20th, 1938 in Oslo, Norway, he currently resides in Sydney, Australia.

Libaek first arrived in Australia in 1960 while touring with *another artist*, promoting the Louis de Rochemont film Windjammer. After completing his education at New York's Juilliard School of Music and marrying *his wife*, he moved to Australia permanently. He began working for CBS' Australian branch in 1963 as a producer, A&R manager and musical director. In 1968, he became a freelance composer and conductor and started composing music for Australian film and TV productions.

In 1977, Libaek moved to Los Angeles where he worked as an arranger and orchestrator of pop music. In 1986, Hanna-Barbera hired him to score a series of animated films. Returning to Australia in 1994 allowed him to continue his work as a conductor and composer for soundtracks and classical works. Additionally, he became the resident conductor of Sutherland Shire Symphony Orchestra in 1996.

In recognition of his talent and expertise within the industry, Sven Libaek was elected president of the Music Arrangers
