Rhino

Rhino Records, also known as Rhino, is a renowned music label that was established in 1973 by Richard Foos. Starting as a record store in Westwood California, Rhino quickly gained recognition with its first successful release "Go To Rhino Records" by Wild Man Fischer in 1975. The label's early logo featured "Rocky the Rhino" and focused on novelty, surf, local new wave bands, and reissues of out-of-print records from other labels.

Under the guidance of Bill Inglot for production, Ken Perry for mastering, and A&R team Gary Stewart and James Austin, Rhino expanded its catalog to include a wide range of reissues by the mid-1980s. The label underwent a logo redesign during this time period to simply "Rhino". In 1984, Rhino released its first CD and became known for manufacturing high-quality CDs made by Sanyo (1984-85) and various manufacturers from Japan or Switzerland thereafter.

In 1985, Rhino entered into a distribution deal with Capitol Records which lasted until 1992. This partnership allowed access to Capitol's back catalog and led to the release of reissues of old Capitol albums. Additionally, EMI and Rhino acquired the Roulette family of labels in 1989. As their deal with Capitol came to an end in 1992, Time-Warner offered an opportunity for growth. Half of the label was sold to Time-Warner

The Doors were an American psychedelic rock/blues rock band formed in July, 1965 in Los Angeles, CA. The band was founded by Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison. Following the death of Jim Morrison in 1971, the remaining members released two more albums but experienced limited success. In April 1973, the band ultimately disbanded. The Doors were later inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as performers in 1993.

The Doors released their third studio album, Waiting For The Sun, in July 1968. It was the band’s third platinum album in less than two years, and the first to top the album chart. Since its debut, the album has sold millions of copies around the globe and contributed to the Doors’ legendary canon with classics like The Unknown Soldier, Five To One and the number 1 smash, Hello, I Love You.

2CD - The first CD of this release contains the entire original album completely remastered from the original master tapes, whilst the second disc includes 14 completely unreleased tracks: nine recently discovered “rough mixes” from the album recording sessions and five live songs from a 1968 Copenhagen show. The performance includes three songs from the band’s latest album – Hello, I Love You, Five To One, and The Unknown Soldier – plus the classics Back Door Man and The WASP (Texas Radio And The Big Beat).
