Factory Benelux is the Belgian counterpart of Factory Records, established in Brussels in 1980 by journalists Michel Duval and Annik Honoré. The label operated under the umbrella of Les Disques Du Crépuscule until 1988. It initially released singles by A Certain Ratio, Durutti Column, and Section 25, which were spare recordings donated by Factory Records. Over the next few years, Factory Benelux exclusively released music from New Order, Crispy Ambulance, The Names, Minny Pops, Cabaret Voltaire, Crawling Chaos, Stockholm Monsters, and The Wake. In addition to pioneering dance singles by Quando Quango and 52nd Street.

Between 1983 and 1986, Factory Benelux mainly focused on European editions of regular Factory releases. This period also saw production work by members of New Order under the name Be Music for artists like Life, Nyam Nyam, Surprize,and Lavolta Lakota. Notably during this time were two complete albums by The Durutti Column: Short Stories for Pauline and Circuses and Bread.

The label stopped releasing new material in 1988 but retained its name for early CD reissues through Crépuscule in the early '90s. In 2012,FBN was revived with James Nice at the helm who previously worked at Crépuscule during the late '80s.The revived F

The Durutti Column is an iconic English music project founded in 1978 by Anthony H. Wilson and Alan Erasmus in Manchester, England. However, it quickly evolved into a solo endeavor led by Vini Reilly. The project was signed to Tony Wilson's renowned label Factory from 1978 to 1992.
With their unique blend of post-punk, new wave, and experimental sounds, The Durutti Column has left an indelible mark on the music scene. Led by the talented Vini Reilly, the project has consistently pushed boundaries and defied genre conventions throughout its extensive career.
From their early beginnings as a collaborative effort to becoming a solo venture under Reilly's guidance, The Durutti Column has consistently delivered innovative and captivating compositions that have garnered critical acclaim worldwide. Factory Benelux presents an expanded 4x disc edition of Domo Arigato, the acclaimed live album by Manchester ensemble The Durutti Column, recorded in Tokyo in April 1985. Domo Arigato followed on the heels of ambitious ‘modern classical’ album Without Mercy a year earlier, and saw composer / guitarist Vini Reilly and percussionist Bruce Mitchell augmented by John Metcalfe on viola and Tim Kellet on trumpet. Their show-cum-recital at the Kan’i Hoken Hall on 25 April was recorded digitally and filmed on two 35mm cameras. ‘Mixing down was fun,’ recalled Durutti manager / mentor Anthony H. Wilson. ‘We were on a flight out next morning so Nippon Columbia hired a mobile studio recording truck and we mixed from midnight to 6 a.m.’ In fact the group always considered this rather hurried mix imperfect, and therefore for this greatly expanded 2017 reissue Factory Benelux have returned to the original soundboard tapes and remastered the entire 90 minute performance, in the process restoring the original running order.

Disc 4 is an NTSC format DVD featuring a pristine transfer of the original Japanese laserdisc edition of Domo Arigato, which is the filmed version of the show with the 1985 digital mix.

2LP - The deluxe Gatefold package also includes a bonus 7” single, Dedications for Japan, originally released in a limited edition in 1984. This features two studio tracks, Love Fading and For Noriko, and reproduces the original picture sleeve. Plus it comes with a Download.
