Formed in 1983 in London, The Hit Parade is an iconic band founded by former postman Julian Henry and Raymond Watts. They established their own JSH Records label to release their music. With guest appearances from Cath Carroll of Miaow and Amelia Fletcher of Talulah Gosh, Heavenly, and Marine Research, The Hit Parade has created a unique sound that resonates with fans worldwide.

The Hit Parade was brought together by Julian Henry, a former postman who had a passion for music. In 1983, he formed the band in London alongside Raymond Watts. Together, they embarked on a musical journey that would leave a lasting impact on the industry.

To showcase their talent and creativity, The Hit Parade founded their own record label called JSH Records. This allowed them to have full control over their releases and maintain artistic integrity throughout their career.

The Golden Age of Pop contains 12 bright new pop songs including recent 45rpm single releases Joey's Girl and Happy World. This album was written and recorded by the band over the last three years with Raymond Watts, producer of the band's 1986 indie classic LP With Love From The Hit Parade. The Hit Parade was formed by three school friends in 1984 and has since built a small but determined following amongst pop fans in London, Los Angeles, Tokyo, New York, Stockholm and Penzance. After touring Japan in the 1990s (with Thee Milkshakes and Edwyn Collins), the Hit Parade went into hibernation although their 2013 single I Like Bubblegum was heralded one of the best singles of the year by Drowned In Sound.
