Limited to 300 Copies. Rough Trade Exclusive. Elias Elgersma (Yuko Yuko), Jaap van der Velde (Korfbal) and Erik Woudwijk aka The Homesick are based in the northern part of The Netherlands, their hometown Dokkum being in the isolation of the Frisian rural area. Having self-produced and released one of 2017’s stand-out albums in Youth Hunt, the band were brought to the UK for the first time ever by Yala! to play their monthly night in South London’s Bermondsey Social Club. The group blew away the filled to capacity room and have since drawn high praise from music press and return for a first full UK tour this April. Support shows with Franz Ferdinand and a run of very successful SXSW shows just behind them, the Homesick play Brighton’s Great Escape this summer whilst they continue to sculpt Youth Hunt’s follow up. The limited 7” is a continuation of their relationship with Yala! This is the first physical Yala! release since the first full album on the imprint, The Magic Gang’s debut, charted 12 in the UK and 1 in the vinyl charts in March. Working with one of the worlds most exciting underground bands is further proof of Yala’s consistency in finding and nurturing the most vital new music and this is sure to just be the first steps for a band with a very exciting future. Guci Guci is a pop song in an odd time signature that sounds like a mix of Drums and Wires-era XTC mixed with The Cure whilst the flip The Best Part About Being Young Is Falling In Love With Jesus is a straight-up dancefloor party nugget that could be a male version of Siouxise and the Banshees' Christine.
