The Soft Pink Truth (SPT) is a solo music project created by Drew Daniel, one-half of the Baltimore-based experimental electronics duo Matmos. The project was born out of a challenge from UK house producer Matthew Herbert to produce a decent house record. SPT released debut tracks on Herbert's Soundslike label and went on to release albums that featured electronic interpretations of UK punk and American hardcore classics.

After an extended hiatus, The Soft Pink Truth returned in 2014 with the album "Why Do The Heathen Rage?" which included covers of various black metal songs with guest vocals from Antony Hegarty, Terence Hannum, Jenn Wasner, and Owen Gardner. Their most recent album "Why Pay More?" was self-released on Bandcamp under a "name your price" model.

In addition to their own work, The Soft Pink Truth has produced remixes for artists such as Björk, Brooks, Dani Siciliano, Tussle, Sketch Show, Otto von Schirach, Drop The Lime, Eats Tapes, Fischerspooner, Hawnay Troof, Quartet Subtle Telepathe Phiiliip Merimell Kevin Blechdom Roots Manuva Grizzly Bear and Franz Ferdinand.

Thrill Jockey is an American independent record label that was established in 1992 by Bettina Richards, a former A&R representative at Atlantic Records. Originally based in New York City, the label relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 1995.
With over two decades of experience, Thrill Jockey has become a prominent force in the music industry. Known for its diverse roster of artists and commitment to artistic integrity, the label has consistently released groundbreaking and innovative music across various genres.
Thrill Jockey's catalog includes a wide range of critically acclaimed albums from both established and emerging artists. From experimental rock to electronic music, jazz to folk, the label continues to push boundaries and support unique voices within the industry.

The Soft Pink Truth is Drew Daniel, who also forms one half of acclaimed electronic duo Matmos. Started as an outlet to explore visceral and sublime sounds that fall outside of Matmos’ purview, it draws on knowledge of rave, black metal, and crust punk obscurities to subvert and critique genre expectations. On this record Daniel takes a bold and surprising new direction, moving beyond simple plunderphonic sampling and opening up a genuine dialogue with other musicians, Daniel left room in his compositions for moments of genuine surprise, capturing the freeform, communal energy of a DJ set or live improvisation session more than a recording project. It feels ethereal but full, both ambiently hypnotic, and deliciously danceable. 

The melodies, jubilance, and meditative nature of album provides a much-needed escape from the contemporary hell-scape. The process of creating Shall We Go On Sinning So That Grace May Increase?, in and of itself, is the Soft Pink Truth’s way of championing creativity and community over rage and nihilism.
