BMG Rights Management, formerly known as Bertelsmann Music Group, is a global music conglomerate with a rich history in the industry. Originally formed in 1985 as a joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and RCA, BMG has since evolved into a powerhouse of music production and distribution.

In 1986, Bertelsmann acquired full ownership of RCA and Arista Records through the purchase of their joint venture's stock from General Electric. The following year, these labels were merged under the umbrella of Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), solidifying its position as a major player in the music world.

In 2004, BMG joined forces with Sony Music to create Sony BMG Music Entertainment. However, in 2008, Bertelsmann sold its stake in the company, leading to the formation of BMG Rights Management. Today, BMG continues to thrive as a leading record label and distributor worldwide.

Metal band Venom, originally known as Guillotine and Dwarfstar, was founded in 1978 in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Considered pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, their second album "Black Metal" gave its name to a new style on which they had a significant influence.

Most of Venom's original material featured satanic imagery and was written by bassist/frontman Conrad Lant (Cronos) and guitarist Jeffrey Dunn (Mantas). In 1986, Dunn left the band and they split the following year. Lant formed a new band called Cronos with some other members while drummer Anthony Bray (Abaddon) remained as the only original member.

In 1995, Venom's classic lineup reformed after disbanding in 1992 due to internal conflicts. Throughout the years, there were several lineup changes with Lant remaining as frontman. In 2015, Tony Dolan (Demolition Man), Bray, and Dunn formed Venom Inc., continuing the legacy of the 1988-1992 incarnation of Venom.

Sons of Satan is collection of the bands early demo material from the period 1979 to 1983. Fifteen previously unreleased tracks from Venom’s formative years. It comes with new sleevenotes and interviews with Cronos, Mantas and Abaddon.

Venom are an English extreme metal band formed in 1979 in Newcastle upon Tyne. Coming to prominence towards the end of the new wave of British heavy metal, Venom's first two albums—Welcome to Hell (1981) and Black Metal (1982) - are considered a major influence on thrash metal and extreme metal in general. Venom's second album proved influential enough that its title was used as the name of the extreme metal subgenre of black metal. The band classic line-up trio of Cronos, Mantas and Abaddon recorded two further studio albums At War With Satan (1984) and Possessed (1985) and live album Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (1986). Often cited by bands such as Metallica, Behemoth, Celtic Frost and Mayhem as major influences, they are one of the most revered bands of their generation. Venom are still fronted by original singer / bassist Cronos and headline festivals all over the globe and continue to release new music.
