William Onyeabor (born 29 March 1946 – died 16 January 2017) was a Nigerian funk singer and songwriter. He studied cinematography in Russia for many years, returning to Nigeria in the mid-1970's to start his own music label and to set up a music and film production studio. He recorded a number of hit songs in Nigeria during the 1970's, the biggest of which was ‘Atomic Bomb’ in 1978.

Since its founding in 1989, Luaka Bop has introduced artists like Os Mutantes, Shuggie Otis, Tim Maia, and William Onyeabor to the world. It has also become home to a diverse range of artists including Floating Points, Tom Zé, Javelin, Moreno Veloso, Janka Nabay, Delicate Steve and Bright Moments. Previously associated with Warner Bros, Narada/Virgin/EMI and V2; Luaka Bop has been an independent label since 2006.

He recorded a number of hit songs in Nigeria during the 70s, the biggest was&nbsp;Atomic Bomb.&nbsp;Better Change Your Mind&nbsp;is taken from the same album, and, as well as slating the power-crazed nations of the world, the second half settles into a unique slice of stripped down spacey, lo-fi funk.
