The Galileo 7

False Memory Lane

Genre UK & EU Cat no. fplp01

With Allan Crockford's history of playing in such Medway garage-rock stalwarts as The Prisoners, Solarflares, Prime Movers, Thee Headcoats (with Billy Childish), JTQ (original line-up) and currently Graham Day and The Forefathers, it should come as no surprise that his own combo The Galileo 7 have more than hint of 60's garage-rock / freakbeat to their output.  However, with their third album they continue to move further into the psych-pop territory occupied by such luminaries as Bevis Frond (at his poppiest), The Left Banke, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Association, The Direct Hits and even Soundtrack of our Lives. Chuck in a bit of the Estuary eccentricism of Martin Newall, Robyn Hitchcock and the hook-laden energy of fellow Medway garage-popsters Len Price 3 and you have a fair idea of where this album is coming from... and going to. LP - Limited edition with free CD with 3 bonus tracks and Download.
