In nine short tracks the listener is pulled back into a time where rock'n'roll and punk were synonymous with rawness and vulnerability. 'NO' is a worship of total humiliation, of the pleasure in realizing one's own limitations. Like all outsider music, Haust celebrate the togetherness of those who walk their own paths - those who run away from Sunday school to go berserk in the woods. Outsiders need togetherness, as explicitly expressed in the opening track: "Spit in my face, because I can't do it myself". Haust grew up in Notodden in the hills of Norway, in the shadows of hotrod hicks and the black metal crowd surrounding Emperor, and there's a sense of dark misanthropy that pervades the band's fist album in 3 years that is deeply enthralling.
