Balmorhea

Balmorhea (bal-more-ray) is a Texas-based group formed in 2006 by founders Rob Lowe and Michael A. Muller. They play a modern style of classical music with textures and motifs inspired by the American West. With the help of additional musicians, Balmorhea creates a delicately layered and pastoral sound using plaintive strings and other instruments. Their music has been compared to post-classical indie ensembles like Stars of the Lid and Rachel's.
