Chet Atkins

Chet Atkins, born on June 20, 1924 in Luttrell, Tennessee, was an American country guitar player and producer. Known as "Mr. Guitar," he was not only a talented musician but also a record producer for renowned artists like Elvis Presley. Atkins is credited with inventing the smooth and jazz-like form of country music known as "the Nashville sound." He favored the Gretsch Country Gentleman guitar throughout his career.

In addition to his musical achievements, Chet Atkins was honored for his contributions by being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 (Sidemen). He was also part of a musically gifted family, being the father of Merle Atkins and brother to Jim Atkins and Billie Rose Atkins. He was the uncle of Mike Shockley and brother-in-law to Roy Shockley.
