Double Exposure

Double Exposure is a soul disco vocal quartet that was formed in Philadelphia in 1968. Originally known as The United Image, they recorded for Stax before making their way to Salsoul Records. Their first release for Salsoul Records also happened to be the first commercial 12" single ever released. Producer Norman Harris, whom they had known since 1961, played a pivotal role in introducing them to Salsoul Records and produced all three of their albums. After reuniting in 2010, the original four members of Double Exposure began performing shows again and even recorded a new single called "Lady" in 2012.

Known for their soulful sound and disco flair, Double Exposure has been influential within the music industry. They have shared similarities with artists such as The Salsoul Orchestra, Loleatta Holloway, First Choice, Inner Life, Instant Funk, Crown Heights Affair, MFSB, Jean Carn, Candido, Bobby Thurston, Sharon Redd, Melba Moore,Ashford & Simpson,T-Connection,Sky,Gwen Guthrie,J oey Negro,Aurra ,Love Committee,and The Player's Association.
