Fates Warning

Fates Warning is a progressive metal band that was formed in 1982 in Hartford, Connecticut. Originally known as Misfit, the band changed their name and gained recognition with their inclusion on the Metal Massacre V compilation in 1984. With a current line-up consisting of *Ray Alder* on vocals, *Jim Matheos* on guitar, and *Joey Vera* on bass, Fates Warning has evolved over the years while maintaining their unique sound. Their musical direction shifted from power to progressive metal after John Arch's departure in 1987.

Throughout their career, Fates Warning has had several talented musicians contribute to their music. Notable former members include Steve Zimmermann and Mark Zonder on drums, Joe DiBiase and Frank Aresti on bass and guitars respectively, Victor Arduini on guitar during the early years of the band, Chris Cronk providing vocals for a brief period in 1987, and Kevin Moore adding keyboards from 1997 to 2000.
