Luc Ferrari

Luc Ferrari (born 5th February 1929, Paris, France - died August 22th 2005, Arezzo, Italy) was a French composer. He composed works that moved away from purely musical preoccupations and sought to express passing ideas, sensations, and intuitions through different means. Ferrari studied piano at Conservatoire de Versailles and composition at École normale de musique with Arthur Honegger and Alfred Cortot. He joined Groupe de Musique concrète in 1958 and collaborated with Pierre Schaeffer in setting up Groupe de recherches musicales. Ferrari won several prizes for his compositions including the Karl Sczuka Prize and Prix Italia. In 1972, he established his own studio named "Atelier Post-Billig" and founded the studio/label La Muse en Circuit in 1982.

Throughout his career, Luc Ferrari pushed the boundaries of music composition by exploring various mediums to express his ideas about daily life. His works encompassed texts, instrumental scores, electroacoustic compositions, reports, stage works, and more. Inspired by social, psychological, and sentimental aspects of reality, Ferrari's compositions were characterized by their unique blend of sound elements.

Ferrari's passion for music began early on when he studied piano at Conservatoire de Versailles before delving into composition at École normale de musique under the guidance of Arthur Honegger and Alfred Cortot
