No-Man

No-Man is a British artrock band formed in 1986 by Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson. Originally known as No Man Is An Island (Except The Isle Of Man), the group underwent changes and became No-Man. Despite early recognition, commercial success eluded them, leading them to explore deeper into artrock territory. They collaborated with notable musicians such as Robert Fripp, Steve Jansen, Richard Barbieri, and Mick Karn. Bowness and Wilson continued as a duo after parting ways with their former members.

Formed in Hemel Hempstead, UK in 1986 by Tim Bowness and Steven Wilson, No-Man initially went by the name No Man Is An Island (Except The Isle Of Man). With guitarist Stuart "The Still Owl" Blagden and violinist Ben Coleman joining the lineup, they later shortened their name to No-Man.

Although signing to One Little Indian seemed promising for mainstream success with their single "Days In The Trees" receiving critical acclaim from Melody Maker and Sounds magazines, commercial success remained elusive for No-Man. Instead of pursuing commercial appeal, they delved further into artrock territory collaborating with renowned artists like Robert Fripp, Steve Jansen, Richard Barbieri, and Mick Karn.
