Os Novos Bahianos

Os Novos Bahianos is a Brazilian musical group formed in the late 1960s. Known for their unique blend of bossa nova, samba, and rock, they quickly gained popularity with their energetic performances and catchy melodies. With their iconic album "Acabou Chorare," they became one of the most influential bands in Brazil's Tropicália movement. Their music continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its infectious rhythms and poetic lyrics.

Originally from Salvador, Bahia, Os Novos Bahianos was formed by Moraes Moreira, Baby Consuelo (later known as Baby do Brasil), Pepeu Gomes, Paulinho Boca de Cantor, and Luiz Galvão. They drew inspiration from various genres such as MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) and American rock 'n' roll to create a fresh sound that reflected the vibrant culture of Brazil.

The band's success continued throughout the 1970s with albums like "Novos Baianos F.C." and "Vamos Pro Mundo." However, internal conflicts led to a temporary breakup in the early 1980s. Despite this setback, Os Novos Bahianos reunited several times over the years to perform live shows and release new music.
