Robert Gordon

Robert Gordon is an influential electronic producer and sound engineer from Sheffield, UK. He is best known as one-third of the renowned group Forgemasters and as a co-founder of Warp Records. Robert began his career at FON studio, where he worked with Mark Brydon as FON Force and collaborated with artists like Krush, Age Of Chance, and Pop Will Eat Itself.

In 1989, Robert played a pivotal role in the establishment of Warp Records alongside Steve Beckett and Rob Mitchell. His debut release with Forgemasters, "Track with No Name," showcased his talent and set the tone for the label's early releases. Throughout his career, Robert has collaborated with various artists to shape the unique "Bass and Bleep" sound that combined Detroit techno with electro and British experimental minimalism.

Aside from his work in Forgemasters and Warp Records, Robert has embarked on solo projects under aliases such as Black Knight. He released a solo single, a full-length LP titled "View To View," and an EP co-produced with David Moufang (Move D) himself. Additionally, he collaborated extensively with Pete Namlook on their album "Ozoona." Currently, Robert runs Trash & Ready Records while managing his own mastering/production/mixing facility. He continues to work closely with numerous artists including Jenny Romeo, Kid Acne, Toddla T, Bromheads Jacket, I-Monster,and Roots Manuva.
