The Pale Fountains, formed in 1981 in Liverpool, UK, were a band centered around songwriter Michael Head. They released their debut single on Les Disques du Crepuscule and later signed to Virgin in 1982. With one minor hit reaching No. 48 in the UK charts with "Thank You," they recorded two studio albums for Virgin before splitting up around 1985.
