Twisted Sister

Twisted Sister is a US-American heavy metal band from Long Island, New York. Formed in 1972 by guitarist Jay Jay French, the band's songs were written by Dee Snider starting in 1976. Twisted Sister went through several lineup changes before gaining popularity with their third album, "Stay Hungry", which sold over two million copies and remains their biggest success. After disbanding in 1987, the members pursued various projects but eventually reunited for occasional tours. Tragically, former drummer Richard Teeter passed away in 2012 and drummer A.J. Pero died of a heart attack in 2015.

The band's music evolved from glam rock to a heavier sound that set them apart from other glam metal bands of the time. Known for their grotesque image and energetic live performances, Twisted Sister gained international fame with hits like "I Am (I'm Me)" and "We're Not Gonna Take It". Despite facing setbacks such as lineup changes and label issues, they continued to make music and released a successful Christmas album titled "A Twisted Christmas" in 2006.

Although no longer actively recording new material, Twisted Sister still occasionally performs together on small tours around the world. Their enduring legacy as one of heavy metal's iconic bands continues to inspire fans today.
