Bridget St John

Bridget St John is a British singer and songwriter, best known for her three albums recorded between 1969 and 1972 on John Peel's Dandelion label. Her debut album, Ask Me No Questions, was produced by Peel himself. With her accomplished guitar playing skills, she credits John Martyn as her guitar mentor. St John's popularity peaked in 1974 when she was voted fifth most popular female singer in that year's Melody Maker readers poll.

After recording the second album Songs for the Gentle Man with producer Ron Geesin, St John released another album called Jumble Queen under Chrysalis Records in 1974. She then moved to Greenwich Village in 1976 and remained out of the public eye for over two decades. However, she made a comeback at a Nick Drake tribute concert in New York in 1999 where she performed "Northern Sky" and "One of These Things First". In 2006, she toured Japan alongside minimalist French musician Colleen.

In addition to her solo work, Bridget St John has collaborated with various artists including Mike Oldfield on his album Amarok, Kevin Ayers, and Robin Frederick. She reunited with Kevin Ayers in 2007 to record on his album The Unfairground in New York where they duetted on the song "Baby Come Home".
