Not only known for her incredible vocal talent and powerful performances, Candi Staton has also been married to Clarence Carter from 1970 to 1973 and John Sussewell from 1980 to 1998. Together with John Sussewell, she co-founded the gospel label Beracah Records.

Candi Staton's musical legacy extends beyond herself. She is the proud mother of Cassandra Hightower and Marcus Williams (2), who is a talented drummer. With her rich background in various genres of music and her influential role in the industry, Candi Staton continues to inspire aspiring artists around the world.
