Coffins

Doom / death metal band Coffins hails from Tokyo, Japan and was formed in 1996. The current line-up consists of UCHINO on guitar and vocals, SATOSHI on drums, TOKITA on vocals, and ATAKE on bass and vocals. Over the years, the band has undergone several member changes but has maintained their signature dark Doom/Death sound influenced by CELTICFROST and HELLHAMMER.

Originally known as COMPROMISE YOU NEED, the band was officially renamed COFFINS in 1996 by UCHINO and NEGISHI. After a hiatus in 2000 due to members pursuing other projects, COFFINS regrouped in 2003 with a new lineup including SENTOU on bass. They released two demo CDrs before their first full-length album Mortuary in Darkness in 2005.

In December 2005, KOREEDA replaced SENTOU as the bass player for COFFINS. This lineup recorded their second album THE OTHER SIDE OF BLASPHEMY. Throughout their career, COFFINS has toured extensively and played numerous gigs across Japan.
