Dale Watson

Dale Watson is an Austin, Texas based musician born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1962. He moved to Pasadena, Texas with his family in 1977 and was influenced by his musically inclined father and brother. Watson began writing songs at a young age and made his first recording at 14. As an emancipated minor, he played local Houston clubs and honky-tonks with The Classic Country Band.

In 1988, on the advice of Rosie Flores, Watson relocated to Los Angeles where he joined the house band at The Palomino. He recorded two singles for Curb Records in the early '90s and appeared on the compilation series A Town South of Bakersfield. After a move to Nashville, he wrote songs for Gary Morris' publishing company while welcoming his first daughter into the world.

With influences such as *Junior Brown*, *Wayne Hancock*, and *The Derailers*, Dale Watson's music embodies classic country sounds mixed with modern storytelling. His unique style has earned him comparisons to artists like Billy Joe Shaver, Asleep At The Wheel, and James Hand.
