Hot Chip is an English indie dance band that was formed in London in 2000. The group consists of multi-instrumentalists Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Owen Clarke, and Felix Martin. They are known for their energetic live performances and unique blend of electronic and pop music.
With a lineup that includes Rob Smoughton and Leo Taylor for live shows and studio recordings, Hot Chip has gained a loyal following worldwide. Their catchy melodies, infectious beats, and thought-provoking lyrics have made them a staple in the indie music scene.

Rough Trade’s Label Focus for August 2017 is our old friends, Moshi Moshi. The company began as a label back in 1998 and literally defined an era by providing us with artists such as Bloc Party, Hot Chip, Kate Nash, Florence and the Machine, Tilly and the Wall, and a whole bunch of others. These days it’s a label and a management company representing an array of amazing artists such as Wesley Gonzalez, Girl Ray, Sweet Baboo, Alexis Taylor, Anna Meredith, Meilyr Jones, Slow Club and Teleman and next year they will be celebrating 20 years of doing what they do.
