Neil Young is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter and musician known for his solo releases, collaborations with other artists, and his activism on environmental and political issues. He plays guitar, keyboards, and harmonica. Born in Toronto, Canada in 1945, Young currently holds dual citizenship for Canada and the United States. He has been living in California since the sixties. In 1995, he was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as a performer. Despite facing delays due to his marijuana use, Young successfully became a United States citizen.
Young's musical career spans several decades and genres including folk rock, country rock, and grunge. As an influential figure in the music industry, he has released numerous critically acclaimed albums both as a solo artist and with various bands such as Crosby Stills Nash & Young (CSNY).
In addition to his musical pursuits, Neil Young also runs Vapor Records - an independent record label that supports emerging artists. His passion for environmental causes led him to co-found Farm Aid - an annual benefit concert that raises funds for family farmers.

Young engaging in a genre experiment, this time recording blues and R&amp;B with a six-piece horn section. One of the most influential artists of all time, Neil Young has set a standard of artistic integrity and iconoclastic creativity. Before starting his multi-platinum solo career, he was a founding member of the folk-rock band Buffalo Springfield and worked with the groups Crazy Horse and Crosby, Stills and Nash. The Canadian singer-songwriter was recognized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 for his work as a solo artist and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1982. Young's philanthropic work is as renowned as his musical legacy. His famous Bridge School Benefit Concert has become a yearly tradition since 1986 and continues to boast an incredible line-up of high-profile artists. Each year, Young donates all of the proceeds to the Bay Area's Bridge School, which assists children with severe physical impairments and complex communication needs. He was also one of the original founders of Farm Aid in 1985, and continues to be an active member on the organization's board of directors.
