Breathing the sound of the American Heartland, LA native Pearl Charles releases her highly anticipated full-length debut album, Sleepless Dreamer, available on Rough Trade Exclusive Baby Blue Vinyl.

Her full-length debut album, Sleepless Dreamer describes late night revelry, love affairs, running away and running towards, serenading the sunrise through whirlwind stories of her native Los Angeles, the city, the canyon, the desert, and the road. On a quest to discover the truest version of herself, Charles embraces the feeling of not being settled, a person that always restlessly wants more from life and will chase it down. Pearl describes her new album full of songs that are Country disco. It's the kind of music that breathes the sounds of the American Heartland. Full of love, loss, and truly strong emotions, yet it has a cool swagger that you could dance to while played in any jukebox in any truck-stop bar.

At the young age of 23, Pearl Charles already has deep roots in the Los Angeles music community. An LA Native, Pearl embodied California rock and roll cool even before she took her natural position as a figure in the local music scene (and beyond). Pearl started logging miles on the road with her first band, old-timey Americana duo The Driftwood Singers, at age 18, followed by a lengthy stint drumming and singing in garage-pop band, The Blank Tapes. The Blank Tapes toured extensively and earned accolades from Rolling Stone and The New Yorker for their sunny lo-fi surf rock. Along the way, Pearl collaborated with artists such as Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes), Father John Misty, Jonathan Wilson, Stephen McBean (Black Mountain), Farmer Dave Scher (Beachwood Sparks), Johnathan Rice and toured extensively internationally supporting diverse artists such as Father John Misty, Bright Eyes, Thee Oh Sees, Kim Deal, The Growlers, and Allah Las to name a few. Special note that Pearl sang on the last Conor Obest solo album ‘Salutations’. Embarking on a solo career in 2015, Pearl set out to solidify her own name and place by releasing a 9 song debut EP on Kanine Records in 2016. Her debut full length album enlists an all-star band of friends, featuring Father John Misty’s Dan Bailey (drums), Eli Thompson (bass), Chris Dixie Darley (guitar), and David Vandervelde (guitar), Darian Zahedi (guitar) of CRX, Connor “Catfish” Gallaher (pedal steel) of Calexico, Drew Erickson (keys) of Roger Waters, and Maxim Ludwig (guitar). As well as Stephen McBean (Black Mountain), Jonathan Rice, Jonathan Tyler (Nicki Lane), Carrick Moore-Gerety, and Brian Harding. Pearl Charles lives in the moment. Seeking excitement whether it leads her down a dark, dusty road or into the arms of a trouble-making lover.
