Pole is a dubtronic/glitch artist, producer, and mastering engineer based in Berlin. He is known for his innovative sound that combines elements of dub and electronic music. As the founder of *l=~scape* (now defunct) and *Pole* labels, he has been instrumental in shaping the underground music scene.

With his unique approach to production, Pole has gained a dedicated following among fans of experimental music. His soundscapes are characterized by intricate rhythms, fragmented melodies, and atmospheric textures. Drawing inspiration from artists like Jan Jelinek, Vladislav Delay, and Monolake, Pole pushes the boundaries of genre conventions.

In addition to his work as an artist, Pole also runs *Scape Mastering*, a renowned studio where he provides mastering services for other musicians. His expertise in this field has made him a sought-after collaborator for many acclaimed performers.

Pole is the project of ground-breaking electronic musician Stefan Betke. The new album Fading is the first since 2015’s Wald. As with every new Pole record, it’s part of a continued forward trajectory but it also connects to a pre-existing sonic framework. “Every Pole record connects to recordings that I've made before,” Betke says, “in order to stay in this kind of vertical development. The ideas from 1, 2, 3 up to now are connected. I keep the interesting elements, languages and vocabulary that I designed and add new elements.” Fading follows the physical released on Mute of remastered versions of his iconic albums 1, 2, 3 to much acclaim.
