Muse are an English rock band formed in 1994. The band consists of Matthew Bellamy, Christopher Wolstenholme, and Dominic Howard. They signed to Maverick Records and released their debut album, Showbiz, in 1999. Muse's music showcases Bellamy's falsetto and a melancholic alternative rock style.
With their second album, Origin of Symmetry (2001), Muse incorporated wider instrumentation and romantic classical influences, earning them a reputation for energetic live performances. Their albums Absolution (2003) and Black Holes & Revelations (2006) brought them international success with hits like "Butterflies & Hurricanes" and "Supermassive Black Hole".
Their later albums, such as The Resistance (2009) and Drones (2015), explored themes of government oppression and civil uprising while cementing Muse as one of the world's major stadium acts. Their latest album, Will of the People (2022), is inspired by current events like the Covid-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Muse release their eighth studio album, Simulation Theory. The eleven-track record was produced by the band, along with several award-winning producers, including Rich Costey, Mike Elizondo, Shellback and Timbaland. Standout tracks include Something Human, Thought Contagion, The Dark Side and Dig Down. The Dark Side is instantly recognisable as a classic Muse track, featuring Matt Bellamy’s unmistakable soaring vocals and blistering guitars and the driving rhythm section of Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard that have become a hallmark of Muse’s stadium-filling sound. Simulation Theory follows Drones, released in 2015.
