Influential British punk group from west and south London, active between 1976 and 1985. The Clash added catchy sloganistic socio-political lyrics to their brand of garage rock 'n' roll, exploring wider musical horizons than most of their contemporaries. They incorporated reggae, dub, rockabilly, hip hop, funk influences into their music and more.

The US saw the release of "Give 'Em Enough Rope" before their first album to coincide with the band's first transatlantic tour in early 1979. The band's debut LP "The Clash" was soon repackaged with an updated track list and the addition of a free 7" single. A year later they received worldwide acclaim with their classic double album "London Calling".

Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 (Performer), The Clash's classic line-up comprised Joe Strummer (vocals/guitar), Paul Simonon (bass), Mick Jones (guitar) and Nicky "Topper" Headon (drums).

'The Clash Hits Back' is a new compilation that features 33 of the band's iconic tracks. The tracklisting is sequenced from the band's legendary Brixton Fairdeal show in 1982 and contains the best studio recordings of the full set, plus 8 additional iconic tracks. It comes with the original setlist, handwritten by Joe Strummer which he would tape to the back of his Telecaster before each gig.Double CD set.
