Composing the soundtrack are Sufjan Stevens and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Stevens is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist best known for his 2005 album Illinois. Sakamoto is a Japanese musician, composer, record producer, pianist, activist, writer, actor and dancer, based in Tokyo and New York. As a film composer, he has won an Academy Award, BAFTA, Grammy, and two Golden Globe Awards, and has received three BAFTA nominations and four Golden Globe nominations. Call Me by Your Name is a 2017 romantic coming-of-age drama film based on the 2007 novel of the same name by André Aciman. Set in Italy in 1983, Call Me by Your Name chronicles the romantic relationship between Elio Perlman, a 17-year-old living in Italy, and his father's American assistant, Oliver.
