<p>Ride is an English rock band that was formed in Oxford in 1988. Known for their unique wall of sound, the band created a mesmerizing blend of massive distortion and direct melodies. Their music, often described as shoegazing due to the bandmembers' focus on their pedals while performing, drew inspiration from influential bands like My Bloody Valentine. However, Ride stood out with their exceptional songcraft and dynamic approach. Initially hailed as the last great hope of British rock, they quickly rose to fame but eventually faded from the spotlight.</p>

Ride handed the entirety of their highly acclaimed 6th studio album, <i>This Is Not A Safe Place,</i> to mysterious London act, Pêtr Aleksänder, who stripped the songs back to just the vocals and added their customarily beautiful string arrangements, keys and synth textures beneath them. The results take Ride deep into the neo-classical / ambient territory that a couple of the remixes of their previous album hinted at and will appeal to fans of those musical styles, as well as those who consider themselves a part of the band’s die-hard fanbase.
