Bodega is the Brooklyn-based band of guitarist Ben Hozie, synth player Nikki Belfiglio, stand-up drummer Montana Simone, lead guitarist Madison Velding-VanDam (of The Wants) and bassist Heather Elle (of Please No Radio).

Pair traditional post-punk sounds (think Parquet Courts, Ought, The Fall) with modern electronica and snappy narrative lyricism, and you've got Bodega's buzz-worthy debut album. Endless Scroll, recorded and produced by Austin Brown of Parquet Courts, debuts sharp-wit-lyrics, bouncing bass lines, and scrambling guitars. It's itchy, scratchy perfect pop that makes you want to sing along... even without knowing the words. The LP's fourteen songs offer a high-energy, humorous but earnest thirty-four minutes of listening pleasure.

The cover of Feliz Navidad - a traditional Spanish song is pure Radio One - upbeat, fun and an amazing Vocoder lead vocal whilst Where's Bill Grundy Now adds bounce and pop to a legendary DIY classic. The Covers of Love Me Tender and Big Rock Candy Mountain strip things back to show the more delicate and tender side of Shame, which is often seen. This EP is an absolute treat! Live at Lincoln Hall is the first ever live album from Houston-based trio Khruangbin recorded over two nights at Lincoln Hall in Chicago. The six songs last almost 40 minutes and include the 11 minute plus centrepiece, “People Everywhere”. Their unique, psychedelic vibe and unique sound comprised of spoken word, faint vocal melodies, and impeccably performed guitar solos. It's super relaxed, smouldering, and simply stunning. It’s rare that a band’s first full-length debut album sounds as confident and self-assured as Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever’s Hope Downs. The Melbourne quintet released ten songs of urgent and passionate guitar pop that elicit warm memories of bands past, from the Go-Betweens’ jangle to the charmingly lo-fi trappings of New Zealand’s Flying Nun label. Their Live @ KEXP session was recorded post-debut-release in Spring 2018 at The KEXP Seattle radio station. The band performed 3-tracks from their debut album and a choice cut from their 2nd EP, French Press to make up the 4 songs on their live session EP. Limited to 700 Copies.

Innerland is the first ever solo album by Engineers co-founder / songwriter and Ulrich Schnauss collaborator Mark Peters. Originally released as a low-key limited-edition cassette late last year, it has now been relandscaped into a larger-scale, eight-track album and gets a full release on vinyl and CD. This collection of instrumentals nods to Brian Eno, Talk Talk, Richard Thompson, Vini Reilly and Felt’s Maurice Deebank. It highlights Mark’s incredible musicianship, positioning his guitar rather than his voice as the focal point of the music. Available on Rough Trade Exclusive White Vinyl.

Originally available as a limited-edition bonus CD for the album’s release back in March, 8-track Ambient Innerland is an exclusive new version of Innerland – the debut solo album by former Engineers man Mark Peters – which strips away all of the percussion, leaving just the atmospheric layers of guitar and synths. The album fulfils it's monstrous potential, effortlessly slaloming between haunting dub, lush neo-Soul and glitchy electronica. Global in sound. London in feel. It's like Russell had one big party last February, invited all his friends and recorded the entire thing. Then again, everything is recorded.

IDLES may just be the most important band to come out of Britain right now. Cutting through the bullshit of our modern dystopia. Tackling every cancer of this sceptered isle whether it's toxic masculinity on 'Samaritans', nationalism on 'Danny Nedelko' and 'Great', the establishment on 'Gram Rock', aggressive culture on 'Never Fight a Man With a Perm' the list goes on. But with earthquake-like subtlety the guitars swirl and scream, the drums explode and the bass throbs, to remind us that the greatest act of resistance is joy.

4. Khruangbin - <a target="_blank" href="https://www.roughtrade.com/us/music/con-todo-el-mundo">Con Todo El Mundo </a>

It was only a matter of time before the 70s-Thai-funk revivalist movement happened, we all saw this coming a mile off. Wrong. After completely blind siding the entire planet (except for Thailand maybe) in 2015, Khruangbin released their follow-up this year and we can't get enough of this psychedelic trio from, Bangkok *checks notes*, I mean Houston. Utterly atmospheric, furiously funky and an instant "who the hell is that" feeling. Who's looking forward to hearing Justin Bieber's 70s-Thai-funk album due out sometime next year?

If you haven't heard, South London is where it's at and Goat Girl are another shining example of that. Psych-garage with caustic but sentimental lyrics and bluesy guitars and climactic crescendos. Their debut album kicks you in the shin, slaps you round the face and then gives you a big hug we're totally into it. Janis Joplin would be proud.

Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever is an indie rock band hailing from Melbourne, Australia. The band was formed in 2013 by Fran Keaney, Tom Russo (guitar/vocals), and Joe Russo (bass guitar).
