Squid release an exclusive 12” of covers for Rough Trade as part of their End Of Year repressing of the band's debut Bright Green Field. As well as the covers release, fans are treated to a new version of the album on cream white vinyl.

The 12" covers release includes an unexpected cover of Bill Callahan’s “America!”, at first staying close to the original with subtle guitar and percussion, the track later expands with lurching drums, feedback, and Ollie Judge’s distinctive voice. Plus you have Squid's idiosyncratic take on legendary composer Steve Reich’s ‘Clapping Music’, originally recorded as part of a session for NME, their version augments the polyrhythmic handclaps with synths, horns and even vocals - of which the lyrics have been lifted from an interview Steve Reich did on the piece. Their off-the-cuff version of cult hero Robert Wyatt’s track ‘Pigs’ (In There) performed at End Of The Road Festival 2019 as part of The Line Of Best Fit’s Piano Stage programme is on the EP which is completed by a version of ‘Blue Crystal Fire’ originally by Robbie Basho.
