Stelvio Cipriani

Stelvio Cipriani, born on August 20, 1937 in Rome, Italy, was an Italian composer known for his genre movie soundtracks. Despite not having a musical background, Cipriani's fascination with the organ at his church as a child led him to receive music lessons from his priest and pursue a career in music. He studied at Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome and played with cruise ship bands where he had the opportunity to meet renowned musicians. Cipriani's first soundtrack was for the spaghetti western "El precio de un hombre: The Bounty Killer" in 1966. He went on to compose notable scores for films like "Un uomo, uno caballo, una pistola" (1967) and received a Nastro d'Argento award for Best Score for "The Anonymous Venetian" (1970). His work gained recognition when Quentin Tarantino featured one of his tracks from the film "La polizia sta a guardare" in "Death Proof". Stelvio Cipriani passed away on October 1, 2018.
