Album artwork for Kidal by Tamikrest

Tamikrest - "a 21st century rock group who just happen to live in the middle of the desert" (Mojo) - returns with Kidal, a stunning work that perfectly balances their rocking, meditative and progressive elements. The recordings took place in Bamako, Mali, with Mark Mulholland from Tony Allen's Afro-Haitian Experimental Orchestra producing. It was mixed by David Odlum who won a Grammy for his work with Tinariwen. The band's previous album Chatma was a major breakthrough, both artistically and commercially. With the new album the band is still blazing, still asking new questions, still proving that their reputation as one of West Africa's most innovative bands, is completely deserved. The cry of suffering and the yell of rebellion. Power and resistance. Kidal is pure Tuareg rock'n'roll. Pure Tamikrest.
