The No Ones

The No Ones is a band formed in Lansing, Michigan in the 1960s. The group was led by the talented vocalist and guitarist Danny Hernandez, who sadly passed away in 2000. Alongside brothers Kevin Nicholoff on bass and Kerry Nicholoff on organ, as well as drummer Mark Boomershine, The No Ones quickly became a sensation in their hometown. Known for their soulful covers and energetic performances, they captivated audiences with Hernandez's showmanship and guitar skills.

During their heyday, The No Ones toured extensively and packed venues wherever they went. Their talent didn't go unnoticed - Hernandez was often compared to James Brown for his electrifying stage presence. In fact, Loren Molinare of the rock 'n' roll band the Dogs described him as "the Hispanic James Brown with a guitar." Back then, live music was a big deal without platforms like MTV or the Internet, so when The No Ones came to town it was always an exciting event.

In addition to playing at clubs and concerts, The No Ones had a seven-night-a-week gig at the Metro Bowl in Lansing where they perfected their signature tune. Their hit song "You Haven't Seen My Love" reached number one on local charts in late 1967 before gaining popularity across the region in early 1968. This success caught the attention of record labels including Motown Records - an unprecedented achievement for a non-Motown-produced act.
