The Promise Ring

The Promise Ring was an indie rock band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Formed as a side-project by Davey von Bohlen (vocals, guitar), Jason Gnewikow (guitar), Scott Beschta (bass), and Daniel Didier (drums). The band members had previous experience in other bands such as Cap'n Jazz, None Left Standing, and Ceilishrine.

After the recording of their second album "Nothing Feels Good", Beschta left the band and was replaced by Tim Burton and later Scott Schoenbeck. The band eventually split after releasing their LP "Wood/Water" in 2002 with bassist Ryan Weber. Von Bohlen and Didier went on to collaborate again in Vermont and Maritime.
