The Soft Boys

Formed in 1976 as Maureen and the Meatpackers, The Soft Boys are a psychedelic power pop band hailing from Cambridge, UK. After disbanding in 1981, they reunited in 2001 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their iconic album Underwater Moonlight. This reunion led to the recording and release of Nextdoorland in 2002 before breaking up again in 2003. Despite their short-lived existence, vocalist Robyn Hitchcock went on to achieve considerable solo success.

The Soft Boys' unique sound draws influences from various genres including power pop, psychedelia, and post-punk. Their music has been compared to artists such as The Feelies, Mekons, and Young Marble Giants.

With their distinctive blend of catchy melodies and experimental elements, The Soft Boys have left an indelible mark on the music scene. Their legacy continues to inspire musicians today.
