Destruction

Destruction

Destruction is a German thrash metal band hailing from Weil am Rhein. Formed in 1983 by Marcel Schirmer (bass, vocals), Mike Sifringer (guitar), and Tommy Sandmann (drums), the band quickly established themselves as pioneers of the genre. With their raw debut mini-album "Sentence Of Death" and subsequent releases like "Infernal Overkill" and "Eternal Devastation," Destruction refined their sound into potent, powerful thrash. Their increasing musical dexterity and aggressive style led to international recognition, touring with bands like Motörhead and Slayer.

However, internal dissent led to Schmier's departure, causing the band to take a more melodic direction on albums like "Cracked Brain." Despite some disappointing releases during this period, Destruction re-formed in the mid-90s with new members Thomas Rosenmerkel (vocals) and Michael Piranio (guitars). The band regained its footing with albums like "All Hell Breaks Loose" after a full-scale reformation in 1999. Throughout their career, Destruction has remained influential in the thrash metal scene.

With current members Marcel Schirmer alias Schmier on bass & vocals, Damir Eskic on guitar, Martin Furia on guitar, and Randy Black on drums; Destruction continues to deliver their signature heavy sound that fans have come to love
